Planning Appraisals, Planning Applications & Appeals

Planning Appraisals

Before a planning application is made we undertake a planning appraisal to determine whether the development proposal has the potential to be approved. This is an essential service as it flags up possible difficulties on issues that may need to be resolved before making a planning application or going public. Pre-application work, these days, is an essential element of the planning process and we are happy to engage in this process as the first part of an overall scheme which include a formal pre-application discussions with the local Planning Authority or any other party that needs to be involved.

Planning Applications and Appeals

We make applications to the local authority for:

  • Planning permission

  • Approval of reserved matters

  • Renewal of planning permission

  • Certificates of lawfulness (for existing or proposed developments)

  • Advertisements for consent

  • Listed building consent

  • Conservation area consent

  • Minor amendments to existing permissions

We also lodge appeals to the Planning Inspectorate against:

  • Refusal of planning permissions

  • Refusal of certificates of lawfulness

  • Enforcement notices

  • Planning conditions

In making these applications and appeals we may need to bring other experts into the team. We have built up an excellent network of other professionals who we can call on and recommend to assist with planning related specialisms including:
